I’ve been looking over some of the titles on my entries and had to laugh. It all sounds so dramatic and serious! It hasn’t been, it isn’t. One thing I’ve been finding in SL is that everything is magnified.

When last we left our hero, I was nicely restrained on the Patio at StoneHaven. StoneHaven has really become my second home in SecondLife. A wide variety of people who are friendly, fun… it’s a really nice place to just sit and watch the antics.

As I’d suspected before, Miss set a timer on my leg restraints but not on the collar or my arm restraints. As a result, my arms are still in an elbow tie and I was still leashed to the wall by my collar and wrist cuffs. Yum!

Events swirled around me, at one point I had some very pleasant company, two naked girls thoroughly restrained, gagged, blindfolded on either side of me. I was feeling decidedly over-dressed.

Then SL decided to have some fun with me. The region restarted, which does happen from time to time but had never happened to me while I was leashed in place. I got booted (in fact, RLV lagged out on me) and when I relogged I was helpfully sent to a nearby region. The only problem was that the region I was sent to was PG, and I wasn’t exactly PG appropriate at that time! A hasty teleport brought me home.

I’m not sure how I ws able to teleport out of there because the moment I landed at home the leashes on my collar and cuffs started trying desparately to reconnect. The fact that there was nothing to reconnect to and in fact there’s nothing at that altitude was irrelevant. Any time I attempt to move and the leashes try to lift me up to the altitude where StoneHaven’s Patio is. Oh yes, I’m also teleport blocked.

There was also an “agent database migration” happening at the time StoneHaven went down. It appears that a couple of my items got corrupted somehow. My gag has been completely reset, removing Wednesdai as the owner for not readily apparent reason, and my iControl is back in Public Access mode again. It’s the second one that worries me a bit. It was the iControl that was being played with the time I freaked out.

I sent Miss Wednesdai a couple of IMs to let her know what happened and now I wait for her to return to SL. A side effect of the leashes being active is that I am unable to lie down in my bed. I think it’s the collar that is prevents sitting when the leash is active But I’m really not sure. I do know that the best I can do is kneel next to my cage, I can’t actually get in it. Any attempt has me bouncing around like a piece of string from the leashes pulling up.

So now I wait. I’m alone at home, no one is on to IM with and I want to be sure I’m online when Wednesdai comes back. I know I could cheat, log in with SLV and figure out what to do, the obvious being returning to StoneHaven and resuming the position Miss left me in, but that feels wrong on many levels. I’m quite sure that the best thing is to simply remain where I am until Miss comes and decides what to do.

That’s much easier said than done though. There is nothing happening. I’m effectively stuck in place, I can’t IM anyone because no one is online, I just need to sit and wait. I don’t know how long I must wait, it’s entirely not up to me. Miss will return when she returns and I will be here until she returns. I must treat this as a test of my submission. I must wait calmly and serenely for Her to return. Please hurry back Miss.

SL has been a bit of a stormy experience the last couple of days. People, myself definitely included, have been having all kinds of troubles teleporting, random attachments are suddenly detached…

It took an enormous effort for us to meet in StoneHaven, but Miss Wed and I were finally able. She immediately put me on leash (which just hits me deep in my gut every time she does that), and we went for a wander around StoneHaven. Miss offered me an apple and before I knew what had happened, I’d been turned into a tree! She curled up around my roots and we talked and talked and… I’m really liking this, and I know Miss does too.

After a time, we returned to the Patio. There were a few people there and Miss leashed me to one of the posts before taking a chair to chat with everyone. This I think is going to be my favorite way of spending time with people. Chained in place by Miss, laughing and joking. It was great. After a while, Miss decided that she wanted me a little more out of the way so she took me up to the platform Dirk installed recently, bound me tightly and returned to play with Walter below. I was just able to wiggle forward and peer over. It was great.

As all of this is going on, there’s a lot of witty banter. And I stepped ever so slightly over the line. I tend to have a serious smart-ass streak, and I aimed it a little too close to Miss. Okay, let’s be fair, I aimed it squarely at her, and she was up on the platform like a shot. Before I knew it I was hogtied and a gag shoved in my mouth. Miss let me know in no uncertain terms that while she enjoys my wit and “smarty-pants” remarks, I go too far sometimes and directing them at Her in public was not acceptable. She left me gagged up there for a time to ponder my error. The worst part was that I interrupted her as she was playing with Walter and tormenting Diva… Bad Corvan, bad.

In an odd way though, I really appreciated the way Miss Wed took charge when I’d stepped out of line. It’s another part of the whole Owner/sub dynamic, she’s sweet, loving, playful, caring and there is indeed a core of steel under that. Makes me all warm and squishy inside…

Yesterday, Miss Wednesdai decided to give me a test of endurance.

I think I’ve mentioned StoneHaven before, it’s a great spot filled with an amazing collection of people. StoneHaven Patio is where I met Wednesdai, so there’s lots of good reasons to like it. The Patio is a small open area with seating around two sides, shackle bolts on the wall along the opposite side and a couple of leash posts strategically placed in the middle. Fun spot for conversation, play, watching, what have you. There’s also a Voting cage in the corner.

The Voting cage only opens when enough people have voted to release the prisoner. The number of votes required, and the time interval between votes are configurable. Our last scene before she collared me involved the Voting cage…

Miss Wednesdai thought it would be fun to up the ante a little… After securing my in my shackles, arms tight behind, legs taut but walkable, and after placing a gag firmly in my mouth, she locked the cage requiring 20 votes with 5 minutes between. Before getting to how it went, I’ll admit that I was an active participant in determining the severity of the sentence. Oh, should I mention that the gag was my idea? I was splitting attention between SL and RL and wanted an excuse not to be able to easily answer…

One of the things I forgot about the voting cage is that people can only vote once. So what 20 votes meant is that at least 20 people needed to vote. Getting 5 people to vote 4 times each would not be sufficient. By my calculations I should be in for about two hours of confinement which seemed suitable, enjoyable, doable… wrong. Where the scenario went wrong was two assumptions: First, that there would be enough people coming in and out to quickly have 20 different people to do the voting. Second, that someone new would be available and willing to vote the moment that voting re-opened. Wrong on both counts.

It turns out that over any, say 3 hour, interval there is a core of people on the patiow with a few different faces flitting in and out. It also turns out that people come in and out in waves. There will be a period where there are 5-10 people around and a couple of hours later a whole new group has replaced the previous. For about an hour and a half there was nobody around at all.

If was fine for a few hours, there were people about I could gag-speak with, I had IM so was able to chat with a few people privately. Votes were coming in. It was a good time.

Then the RolePlay aspects started to hit me, and I started to feel it. I’m going to start calling it RolePlay-space or RP-space when this happens. Maybe SecondLife-space works better. Yes, I’m going to go with that. SL-space. I’ve read about SubSpace in BDSM, this I imagine is similar. What happens is that it starts becoming real. I’m starting to feel the restraints, the gag really is stopping me from speaking normally. The discomfort of whatever position I’m in really is uncomfortable. I’m not playing anymore, it’s really happening. Just to be clear, I’m also sitting at my computer in RL fixing bugs, getting my wife coffee, there’s still a clear delineation between these two sensoriums (no better word for it), but at the same time, when I’m looking through those bars, I don’t feel like I’m imagining it anymore, I’m really there.

I was unable to sit and I’d been standing in the same place for over four hours (at the time SL-space started to take over). I wanted out of this cage! Even as people were coming in and out, votes ticking, I was ready to sit down and rest my poor feet. There was nothing I could do though. Miss Wednesdai wasn’t anywhere near, she’d locked the cage, only she could override the settings. I start casting wildly about for a way to relieve my poor aching feet. Meanwhile, some people had arrived and one Lady became tired of hearing my mumblings from behind the gag. She ordered me to bee quiet and emphasized her demand with a couple of quick swats from her paddle. I sought to be much more quiet from that point.

In looking around, I notice that I can see the floor clearly and there appears to be enough room to sit down, let’s try. Here we run into one of the quirks of SecondLife. It seems that sometimes (and this is apparently fairly common with cages) if you sit on something that you are inside of, you end up sitting on top of it. I looked around in shock, I was out of the cage? Wait, that’s not right! Not knowing what to do, I sat down, and then laid down in front of the cage. I knew that this wasn’t the right way out of the cage, but it will still locked, nothing I could do about it.

The Lady mentioned earlier saw me and immediately accused me of cheating my way out of the cage. As best as I could through the gag, I protested that I hadn’t intended to, that it was an accident, she was unconvinced. She returned me to my cage and debated starting the vote count over. I was able to prevail upon her to return it to the number remaining when I’d popped out. I should mention, she had earlier convinced me to vote for myself which earned me a five vote penalty. I knew I’d been warned not to, but I was so addled that I could not remember who had warned me, namely: Wednesdai, Walter (a very nice Dom) and Dirk, the owner of StoneHaven). I really wish I’d remembered…

I did finally discover a way to sit down without cheating out, using an animation. At last, off my feet. Now the waiting really started to get to me. There was no one around, except for the occasional straggler wandering through. A Lady came up to my cage at one point and asked me what I would offer for her to get her vote. I was so exhausted and, I want to say dejected but I’m not ure it’s the right word, that all I could say was that I would offer my sincerest thanks. She countered by asking what I’d offer to prevent a No vote and I simply couldn’t respond, I was so deep that I had nothing I could pull out. I felt wrung out, and simply said that I would have to accept her choice whatever it was. I honestly don’t remember how she voted, and I think she left a little disappointed. I just had no energy left for anything. I ended up spending the rest of my sentence sitting, head down, staring at the floor. It took me a moment to realize that the cage was open when the final vote came in. All I wanted to do was collapse on a cushion, curl into a ball and hide for a while.

An aside about SecondLife for a bit. A lot of the actions taken by Avatars are due to animations that people have attached to various equipment. Finding a good source of a variety of animations is proving challenging, as is being able to access the right one at the right time. The next time I have some free time I need to really dig into this because I’m finding that the right animation, accessed at a moment’s notice, makes a huge difference.

I stayed on for a while longer once I was out, but more quiet than usual I think, I really was feeling the exhaustion of my ordeal.

When I saw Miss Wednesdai this morning I pleaded with her never ever to put me in that cage unless it was as a punishment. The thought of doing that again is not a pleasant one. It did feel really good to hear how proud she is that I withstood it, that does make it worthwhile, just please Miss, not again soon.

I did have some time for serious reflection, and a long conversation with Walter but this posting is long enough already. More to come…

I’ve finally, reasonably fully, stopped flitting around looking for the latest toy and actually started playing. Yes, this morning I popped over to Restrained Freedom to buy their Personal Cage and Body Binder Deluxe… Moss looked far too comfortable in her Personal Cage last night and besides, did I mention that I’m a serious gadget freak and bondage slut? Wonder where she got that cool mask too…

I’ve also found a fun place to hang out where I’m slowly becoming known, namely StoneHaven. There’s a nice group of folks who hang out there and I’m slowly coming to know them and known to them. I still feel how much of a newbie I am, but the shine might just be starting to wear off a bit.

I have figured out a few ways to get myself in trouble though.

LadyMindPain introduced me to the iControl system a few days ago and it’s an amazing restraint system. I’ve been playing with it and on a couple of occasions leashed myself to the wall on the StoneHaven Patio. The iControl can be set to determine who can release the one bound: The locker, anyone, anyone except the bound. There’s also a timer which will release everything automatically. Oh yeah, and additional restrictions can be added by anyone, including the bound. It gets a bit tricky trying to set it to Anyone except Me with a timer. I haven’t quite sussed out reliably how to do it which is how I ended up chained to a wall with no timer and not able to release myself!

Fortunately a good Samaritan has released me each time. I really need to get some pictures taken of the iControl cuffs and the force-fields, they make for some really nice visuals.

Meanwhile, I want to figure out how the heck to make equipment a little less chatty. Between my gag, the cuffs, Xcite pieces and my chastity belt I can spam pretty badly when I first rez into an area. I’d like to be able to tone that down. I also need to reposition some anatomic bits to account for the chastity belt. It shouldn’t be possible to touch what’s locked away, but as far as I can tell it needs to be attached or else some of the belt’s, um, features don’t work. Maybe I can just reposition it to inside my body, or at least behind the shield of the belt. It’s not like it will ever be directly used in SL…

Finally, LadyM and I had some fun this morning with her thoroughly locking me down in my iControl. Not being able to see, identity names or even emote more than a few characters really made the restrictions real. Except for a few seconds here and there I hadn’t really done anything with my blindfold. LadyM had me blind for about 20 minutes and the disorientation was intense! I might need to ask her to lock it on for longer some time…

Now if I could just stop forgetting that I’m gagged and stop earning punishment time for attempting to speak…

After beating myself up a bit for wasting a lot of time and money (wasting the time bothered me more than the money), I decided it was time to start actually looking around the world and meeting people. you know, the whole reason I started this.

I had heard about a place called StoneHaven from other blogs and decided to head over there to see what trouble I could get into. Trouble aplenty it turns out!

The cage room is full of cages (what did you expect, it was full of rabbits?) and the first one I tried was this little tiny box. What fun! I spent about half an hour in there and everyone who came by stopped to talk. I met a bunch of nice people and started to feel like maybe I’d begun to find my way.

This is how I spent a good portion of the last few days. Finding a fun cage to get into (and in a couple of cases being “helped” into the cage) and then seeing what would happen. Everyone I met was nice, interesting, friendly, this is looking up.

Yesterday was a holiday here so I spent most of the day inworld. Right off the bat I got myself into a bit of trouble I hadn’t expected, I stopped by Lydia’s Jail and thought I’d try out the interrogation room. It has a timer so I set the timer for 5 minutes and hopped in.

Oops, the timer was already set for 3 hours and I just added 5 minutes to that… Oh well, that’s what I get for jumping in too quickly. It turns out that this may have been the best thing to happen to me yet in SL because I met LadyMindPain Gothly, Oi Meilli and Kira…. damn I can’t remember your full name, I’m sorry Kira! Oi and I didn’t get a chance to talk much, she was a bit tied up. There was someone else in the room too but my mind has drawn a blank.

Kira and LadyM were great though, we talked for a long time waiting for the timer to run out. Later after I got out I met LadyM on the Patio and had my first honest-to-goodness real bit of person-to-person play in SL. It wasn’t anything huge or elaborate, but it was my first online D/s session and it really helped me get comfortable in this new world I’m in. I’m really looking forward to running across LadyM again soon.

After that, I spent a fair amount of time just lounging on the patio, watching and listening and learning. Occasionally speaking up but mostly just learning by example. It feels like the right way to go, I don’t want to be one of those newbies who jumps into a room and yells “Hey! I’m a sub, beat me now!!!!!”

I did do something a little stupid this morning. I was feeling a little reckless, so using the iControl restraints (LadyM put me on to them, they’re great), I locked myself kneeling and leashed to the wall in the Patio. Not so big a deal, right, then I did the reckless part: I set them to “Anyone except wearer” and no timer.

So anyone who wants to can release me, but I cannot release myself. Just as I was needing to leave for work, people started arriving and the best opportunity for some real fun slipped through my fingers. There were a couple of folks starting to fiddle with the iControl too. I’m not kneeling anymore, full hogtie for me now We’ll see what this evening brings…

I’ll grab a picture next time I get inworld.
